100,000 Pounds Saved

Updated: May 10, 2019

Just this past winter, Wings introduced our waste-free initiative, to do more of our part to help save our environment. Knowing how much trash and pollution damage our world, endangering our planet, Wings couldn't continue moving forward with the thought that we were contributing to this. We've made changes to the way we make and package our products, and are keeping our waste out of the environment. On top of this, we've begun to use all recyclable and biodegradable materials, so that you as customers can feel guilt-free, knowing that your own waste is reusable, or at the very least, will decompose on its own, doing nothing to damage the world around you.

The planet is in a dangerous spot now. If we don't start making big changes to the way that we not only live our personal lives, but the ways major corporations are running, the damage we've done and that climate change has done will become irreversible within the next eleven years. By 2030, we could be looking at the point of no turning back. Not only does this present a terrifying future for ourselves and the generations to come, but it means that the ways we're living now are currently harming us.

Temperatures are on the rise, and will continue to increase. Of the effects of this, perhaps one of the most terrifying is the inability for certain crops to grow. If climates don't stay consistent, it could be hard to grow things from staple crops like corn and wheat, to things like chocolate, and certain fruits. It could quickly become very difficult to come by foods and products that are so cheap and readily available today.

There are and could be more droughts and heat waves in some areas, and greater precipitation in others, at dangerous degrees. Think of how many wildfires that have broken big news in the last few years, and how many hurricanes tore through the past few summers. There's a potential future where all of this is even worse.

This is all what Wings has been hoping to prevent, and we have been doing our part to the best of our ability since our foundation. And since this past February, since the introduction of our waste-free initiative, Wings has kept 100,000 pounds of waste out of our landfills, and our environment. It's an exciting milestone to have reached, and we hope to continue on this trend in the future. Above all else, we hope other companies will follow down this path, to help on their part to prevent an irreversibly damaged world.
