As part of WINGS' initiative to create zero waste in the production of our products, we are hosting an event to help clean up Chicago! Everyone who wishes to help create a cleaner, happier, and healthier living environment is welcome to participate in going through the city parks and beaches around Lake Michigan to clean up littered material.
So much waste is created every day that gets disposed of improperly, which harms the environment, and all of us living in it. Even waste that ends up in garbage cans finds its way to landfills that still create pollution and toxic air. It's difficult to live cleanly, and through this event, we're hoping to raise awareness of how bad this issue is, to motivate everyone to live a little cleaner, and to help fight for bigger industries to do the same!
This event will begin at 8 A.M. on March 9 and go through 5 P.M., but participants are welcome to come and go throughout the day as they please! The more help the merrier!
A free and healthy lunch will be provided at noon for everyone, with gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options for those with dietary restrictions. Snacks will also be available throughout the day!
Any hands on deck helps, be it for thirty minutes or three hours. Any trash cleared is a step in the right direction! We hope that by the end of the day, Chicago will be a little bit cleaner, a little bit healthier, and a little bit happier to live in. Above all else, we hope this continues forward into a future, clean, and healthy city!
